QUICK QUESTION

this is just a quick question: so this morning around 6:00 AM, i looked out the window @ my chickens and only saw two ( i have 3). I went out to the roosting place in the coop and the other chicken ( a Light Brahma Hen) was still roosting. But when she saw me she came down. Is it just a "late riser" thing? Thanks for answering

As long as she is acting normally, probably just a 'late riser' thing.

I always worry about late risers. But that doesn't mean anything is wrong with her. I would give her a once over for health, make sure nothing stands out that might have her a bit off for the day. Definitely check beneath her section of the roost bar to see that she pooped over night and her crop is not still full. This can have them lingering on the bar in the morning. So just keep an eye on her and as Sourland has said, as long as she is acting normal, eating and drinking, maybe she was just late to get off.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! X3, it is probably nothing but give her a checkup to be sure. If mine are laying an egg that morning they will often hang around the roosts/coop later than normal.

I have the same problem. You have been given excellent advice - check her out, keep an eye on her and if this behavior continues - tells us.
