Quick response baby hatched with intestines hanging out

This little one is now about 16 hours old first to hatch obviously too soon from what I read he has no hope is there a quit and painless way to cull without using scissors I don’t have the heart for that

So sorry to hear. You may wish to check the calibration of your thermometers as slightly high temperatures may cause early hatching - assuming it was not assisted.

You are most likely correct, I recall a few resources where someone was able to fix the intestinal prolapse by bandaging it back into place and I believe the chick survived. I can find that for you if you want. Personally, I would recommend culling, as you said. Here is an article on euthanizing chicks with ether AKA starting fluid.

There is a bit of controversy regarding whether it is irritating to their lungs but in my opinion chicks are so young and delicate that they die almost immediately upon exposure. I used it once for the same issue and it was very fast, a matter of seconds until the chick fell silent. And it is certainly much easier (but never easy.)

Thank you , yes I think the temperature was just a little off on this set the others hatched fine but this one tried very hard and I can’t bear to see him keep pushing to hold on when he’s just gonna suffer through longer . I very much appreciate the help thank you .
