Quick run on the cheap.

Are you needing to contain chickens or exclude dogs.

Cheap plastic mesh will contain chickens but won't exclude dogs.
Contain birds. Dogs stay where they are supposed to. I have clipped one wing on everyone, but she still hopped the 4 ft fence. I don't know the damage yet as I'm at work. Y'all tried to warn me. :he

I have found that my POL pullets are the most prone to wander.

Maybe garden netting over your run rather than trying to raise the fence?

We let them roam the yard. She went over the chain link fence. I'm surprised the dog didn't kill her. Had a maran get two doors over yesterday. So, I have no choice.

Hoop runs held in by steel T-posts are quick and easy .... and pretty affordable. But, they require that you have a way to get 16' cattle panels to your place. Not many places like to deliver them. Mine are layered in hardware cloth ... which adds expense, but if your goal is only to contain chickens, you can simple cover them with netting or the like.
