quick soap question

I am thinking of making soap. What all do i need for a batch of basic soap?

The "basic" ingredients are fats, water and lye.

My first suggestion would be to research how to make soap and you will find many recipes and several different processes.

It is a little different than just putting together some ingredients, you should have some knowledge on what works well together.

Soap making can be very dangerous because of the lye.

If you would like to start off with something more simple then you might want to check out the "melt and pour" soaps. You can add other ingredients to make it special.

FYI - soap making is not as cheap to do as people think!
