So a few weeks ago I had a bird just up and die, I guess it comes with the territory. She was fine the morning of, picking around looking herself.
She was the bird who had all the problems , pasty butt , bad feet , etc.

Anyway shortly after ( maybe a week ,we usually have close to two dozen eggs) we crack an egg and there was a chunk of tissue / blood in the yolk, could she have bleed internally?
I know if tissue break off the placenta during birth a woman can have problems and wondering if this can happen to the chicken or if any one has seen this.

All the others are normal and doing well, so I don’t think any sickness.
Tough when they go quick but maybe better for them in the end.

Blood in eggs is usually from a ruptured blood vessel. I see it more after hens have been frightened or jostled around. It generally is nothing. Many chickens just die one day. Sending them in for testing or doing a neocropsy is the only way to know for sure why they passed.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Did you take a photo of the egg contents?
It sounds like you there may have been a meat or blood spot in the egg - either is quite common in eggs. http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/common-egg-quality-problems

I'm sorry there is not way to know what happened to your hen without a necrospy. If you have another unexpected death, it would be best to refrigerate the body and send it to your state lab for testing.
