Love the turkey one! How cool.

My mom gave me some older block-of-the-month chicken and roosters blocks. Boy, they look complicated, and also have applique, but oh so pretty!

Hmm... Would anyone be interested in a small block exchange that featured more complicated blocks with blocking and applique or embroidery? It might make a nice art quilt if used with plain cloth or simple blocks around them. Just thinking outloud to my quilting friends. Speak up if interested.

Depending on when these would be due and how many and the block size, I might be. I'm trying to keep these current blocks simple as I know I tend to make things harder on myself than I have to! Were you thinking specific patterns? or what?

I've thought too about doing miniature blocks, say maybe for pot holders or coasters. Something like that. It would need to be a small group too though as I would be doing these by hand. Maybe 4 people and we'd make 4 blocks for each of four seasons? ... just thinking out loud too.

I think a small side swap for small specific interestes would be good. I'd think they'd need longer to complete. I'd probobly want 3 monthes for a small side swap that was more detailed to be completed. I definately want to continue the quilt block swaps too. I'll be semi-retired after May, so I'll have lots more free time.

I don't have a regular sewing room, so after the holidays I took over the formal dinning room table. My sewing maching and quilt blocks in process for upcoming swaps sit all over the center, and one end is a bundle of packages from current swap, and one from the next one. Maybe I should take a pic, LOL.

I agree we would need to make the time due longer and smaller number of blocks, now I have a book that has all kinds of pot holder patterns in it, it has the 6" and 12" templates, I could share, if anyone is interested. Here is just a sample of what is in this book.
