A little something for the quilters out there, just finished these two off this week.

The first little quilt, hand applique, hand embroidery, hand stitched, wall hanging, first EVER applique of any type.

Massive 100" x 100" snail trail with cat in center, machine pieced, machine stitched by a friend of mine who has a longarm quilter machine. I'm on the left in the shots. Forgive the baggy clothing.... the bottle babies made a mess of my clothes before I left for quilting today, this was all that was clean!

The wall hanging I started in October of 2008, but I only worked on it Monday evenings for 2 hours at the quilt thing here in town, and then I didn't work on it every Monday. So not too many hours tied up in it.

The snail trail I started when I first moved out here in 2006 and met the hand quilters out in Voca, which is where I go on Wednesday afternoons. But I put it aside in Feb 2007 because I landed a full time engineering job that usually worked me 60+ hours a week. Picked it back up when I was put out of work in October 2008. 80 blocks of snail trail....... thinking I WILL NOT do that again, towards the end I was wondering what I was thinking when I thought this thing up!!!

And no 2 of those 80 are the same colors either

But it's done, finally!! And it's not quilted to death, being a hand quilter first and foremost I'm not too big on the tight stippling that a lot of quilts are getting now days.
(Sheesh... I sound much older than I am! The older ladies I quit with on Wednesdays are rubbing off on me)

Wow! I love both the Passion Flower Vine and the Snail Trail!

I've never appliqued before, but you've done a beautiful job. I love the butterflies too, very subtle.
