I found a site that has all the Quiltier's Guilds in the US and found one in Las Cruces. I emailed them to see if I could get some of the members to give a presentation to my students! I sure hope they contact me back!

Francis from the Las Colcheras Quilter's Guild came to the club meeting yesterday, it went great and she's coming back next week and bringing tools to cut things and show them how to measure and piece things together. She brought several quilts in various stages of being finished and different styles.

Were the students overwhelmed or did they think it was interesting? Sometimes learning quilting techniques from someone that is really good can be a little intimidating.

How wonderful Kate. I'm sure the students enjoyed it. Fom the looks on their faces in the photos I'd say so. I went to our quilt guild meeting Thursday night. I don't often go but I wanted to get out of the house. I'm glad I went because I won two of the door prizes. That's a new one for me. I don't usually win a thing.

I'm down to my last ten pin wheels for my queen size quilt and then I have to join them together. Will post photos once I get them together and then when I add the sashings which have appliqued flowers on them. I'm also working on a hand sewn quilt top using 5 inch hexagone with six pointed atars around them. The daimonds in the stars are onlu 1 inch when finished. I must be nuts but when I saw the pattern it said "make me, make me"

And......for the rest of the story.....as Paul Harvey used to say......I have my incubator in lockdown with 12 eggs in it. I'm at day 19 so I'm getting nervous. My husband made the incubator like he used to when he taught science in KS and that was one of the science projects for his students. Keep fingers and toes crossed and a prayer or two will certainly help. Will keep everyone informed.
