Quitter?

Medical thermometers finally came back into stock, I read on another thread that Vicks Medical Thermometer was recommended. My temp seems to be within range, on the higher end of what's acceptable though, even though I thought I had it pretty well dialed in...but honestly I don't trust any of the thermometers I've tried. The others are still growing and moving. But even though it's only been two days since I originally posted....it isn't looking promising for this guy. Photos attached :( all angles, no movement except the yolk, fluid, when I rotate.

Does it look significantly different to the others? It is looking like a quitter, but a few more days in there won't hurt just to be sure.

Ya, unfortunately it looks nothing like the others. I candled all of them end of day 7, the other three were veiny and moving. Today, start of day 10, after candling the sad egg I checked one other (to end on a positive note I wanted to see some life) and it's amazing how dark one of the healthy eggs got over two days and lots of movement. I'll check in two days and make a judgment call.

Well sadly that egg was a goner. :( But I have 3 little guys in there that seem to be doing great. Day 14, all have nice veins and are moving around. This is my first time incubating ever so watching the changes is incredible, it's also hard to know what's normal and what's not. For instance, the photo attached of one angle of the eggs. What is that big thick line? I imagine part of the baby....

It's either part of the baby or part of the yolk. Either way it looks great. As long as you can see those lovely veins you know they are still alive and kicking. One week to go! Exciting and fingers crossed they all hatch easily. In the Articles section you can look up the articles people have written about Assisted Hatching, just in case things go wrong and you do need to make the call to help a chick out. The one by the member Pyxis is very good. It will also give you a good idea of what to expect and what the timeframes are for each stage of the hatching process.

I believe it's part of the yolk, I see that sometimes too. Looks good!
