Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the start of the new year. I've been taking a little breather the last few days, taking care of myself and things at home, while I'm physically able to. Still no news otherwise, but I will keep you all posted as and when things get moving again, which will hopefully be soon…

Take care and keep up with the wonderful quotes and thoughts. Love you guys :hugs

ya'll be sure to pick up my slack.

got some bad news today.  good friend of mine just passed away from cancer. we grew up in the same small community, went to school together, from grade school, thru high school, we were teammates in football and baseball, throughout highschool.  we were both active members on our youth football board, and both coaches.  he leaves behind two daughters, and a son, all of whom had lived with him after he and his wife were divorced.  both of his parents are still alive, and I know how devastating this is for them.  He was active as a volunteer firefighter, and ems in the small community, as well as where he worked.

to say that his passing will leave a hole in this community and his family's life, is an understatement.

add this to the list of why I want to throat punch, and then sac kick cancer.

I detest it as well.  My dad died of leukemia when I was 4 years old, leaving my mother a young widow with two little girls.  My amazing step-dad, who later adopted my sister and me, died of lung cancer.  I had it in 1973, shortly after Kenny was born and was terrified that I wouldn't be there to watch my 3 kids grow up. My daughter learned she had cancer early in her pregnancy with Little Diane, and had a hysterectomy done a few weeks after the baby was born, followed by a double masectomy when she was in her early 30s.  My 6 year old niece was diagnosed one year ago this month with Leukemia.

I am so sorry for the loss to you, his family, and his community.  We all are little rocks tossed into a pool - as we go on we make the ripples that surround us, ever spreading and touching lives. Dad used to tell us that it wasn't the splash of our own lives that counted, it was how many beautiful ripples we sent out to others that told our true stories.

Can everyone send positive vibes and healing intentions to a family member? My 33 year old cousin has been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, she has already started her chemo and just shaved her head. She has two little children and she has always been super healthy, ate only organic foods, never smoked or drank. Sad....

Praying

Hope scientists will soon find a cure for cancer...they already did, but it's still in experimental testing

Not quite. It's not a cure if it hasn't been tested yet.

All we can do is hope for a cure and in the meantime support those affected as well as all who love them.
True. It was some high-school girl who discovered it. It uses some cancer locater and a laser to kill the cancer cells. I heard about it years ago, and it was going to be tested in rats, but I haven't heard anything since...it must not of worked or something.

There has been some promising research recently regarding a treatment that attacks cancer cells and leaves healthy ones alone. Hopefully that works out.

That's cool. Is it like highly concentrated herbal remedy? I know that long term use of chamomile tea can do that. I'm not a scientist, but I do not understand why, if it's possible, researchers don't this: discover what chemical gives plants like chamomile anticancer properties and mass produce that chemical. Makes sense to me
