You would be a great foster, or into rescue. Have you ever done this>or are you now? I have both fostered and rescued in the past when I was able. I loved, loved it! Rescued dogs. Fostered dogs. I just love them. Now, I have my chickens! Well, and three dogs of my own.

Well thank you. No I'm not doing it right now, but I would love too! It's what I have always wanted to do. I have rescued a chihuahua, and two cats though. :) My other dogs I got from neighbors.
One of my cats was through at least 3 homes mine being the 4th. When we got him he had been in the rescue place for at least 6 months, he also didn't have hair on his lower bottom, we brought him home though changed his food and now he has his hair back and is just beautiful! Our other cat we got her when she was a kitten, she got trapped in a cat trap in an abandoned warehouse, it was during the summer time and she got so dehydrated! This persons husband who works at an animal rescue found her took her home and nursed her back to health. They couldn't keep her because was allergic, so we got her. We ah e also rescued a lot of other animals too, except they have died from old age. I would like to go and work for rescues. :)
