Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

As I am an older person, I could come up with a lot of...wish I had thoughts. As the video went along, it came to me, that I can still do a couple of things that I had thought of, but hadn't really pursed, regardless of my age. Also, some things I can do now came to mind, that I hadn't thought of doing .. in my past. So, I need to get going! :)

That is a very inspiring video, Cynthia!

Thanks for sharing! It reminded me of one of my favorite quotes, "Do not be afraid of death. Be afraid of the un-lived life".

Chemo 8 update on Kyle. Thank you all for keeping Kyle and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Hello again to everyone!
Well, it is hard to imagine that Kyle has now completed 8 sessions of chemotherapy. He did so awesome today at the clinic. He really impressed a nurse we have never seen with his calm attitude. He didn't even flinch when he was accessed or when the needle was removed. It was also our shortest session we have ever had. We were only there an hour and a half, so that was a huge blessing. Short visits sure make the rest of the day better.
We had a minor bump in the road last week when Kyle had a day of pretty severe leg pain. He had to take oxycodon a couple times, but he was back to "normal" the next day. I asked the doctor about it today, and she did mention that it is possible that as the one drug builds every week, the leg pain could happen more regularly. The thing is that we don't think Kyle would tell us even if he was feeling bad on a regular basis. He is one tough kid. Today he and Katie were running around playing "Super pup" or something like that and I heard him say "Katie, my legs hurt." I told him he could take a break, and he immediately said "Oh, my leg not hurt." Then he went back to running around. Unfortunately, we think this might be happening more than he tells us. We are okay with him playing through some pain, but we don't want him to overdo it.
Katie does have a cough and Kevin has a cold that started this morning, so please say extra prayers that Kyle would not get sick. Just a cold is not awful but it could take his body a long time to get over it. If it is something like a sinus infection, which could be bad. We won't worry about it unless he does get sick.
Overall Kyle is doing great and continues to have a great attitude about everything he has gone through.

He really is a remarkable little man

He's having to deal with so much and at such a young age and he's taking it all in his stride. We'll continue praying for him, that all this will pass quick and then we'll still want updates now and then, as I think we all grew a bit fond of him over the last few weeks!
