Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

Looked it up...wow, I couldn't imagine having cancer at such a young age...:hit
I know, it is so sad. I had a 3rd cousin twice removed that was born with a tumor that was 1/2 her body weight, her mom was on drugs when she was pregnant with her and now the tumor is gone, but she is a special needs child living in a foster home now because they took her away from her mom. It is so sad, because the rest of her life she will have to deal with it just because somebody else was stupid and irresponsible. I can not imagine going through something like that.

We have the touch-a-truck event tomorrow, so we are looking forward to that. Overall, things are going well. Blood draw and counts this coming Monday. Kyle's next chemo and ultrasound will be on Oct 10th.

We hope you all have a great weekend!

That's wonderful!

I feel embarrassed to ask, but I never saw the very first updates you posted. What kind of cancer does Kyle have?

I see that many on Team BYC have chimed in to let you know that Kyle had a Wilms Tumor removed, along with his left kidney, in May.
I can never tell all of you how much I appreciate your continuing support of him, his Mom (my dear daughter), his Dad (best SIL ever), his sister (the creative Katie) and of me (proud grandma, known as Maymi to K & K).

for all of you!!

We may be far apart, but here on BYC and on this thread, we're all family. And we care

I think Kyle and the other BYC grandchildren, like @Blooie 's Kendra and Katie, feel a bit like family to us all too… We got to know and love them all through the threads and updates and photos...

Talking about kidneys, I was watching the news the other night and heard the most wonderful story from Britain. Some angels decided to encourage organ donations, specifically kidneys, for the patients that so desperately need one. They started the Give a Kidney charity, http://www.giveakidney.org. In a nutshell, people are encouraged to donate kidneys to complete strangers, the recipients' close family members are then encouraged to "pay it forward" and donate kidneys back… 500 People have received kidneys this way already. I love everything about this.
