My two favorite quotes by him, good stuff.
I'd be surprised if Monsanto didn't have a contract out on her. She's brilliant!
Right, Monsanto is no joke, they are striving for world domination. You know they are also trying to patent certain Cannabis strains as well. I don't understand how we as humans can patent a plant, we did not create the plant, how do we therefore claim ownership over it?

My husband says that he thinks I am the prettiest in the garden with my hair tangled and dirt on my face, and I never believe him.
Maybe replace 'talk' with 'do'

Believe your husband Jan!

I have to share something my grandpa, a dairy farmer, always used to say,

"It's hard to starve a farmer."

He knew that 1st hand, he raised a family of 6 during the depression.  If anyone needed a meal, they knew grandpa would feed them well if they would help him out with the farm chores. One of the best men I've ever known.

:hugs I love that and his willingness to help others. Sounds like a good man!

No, no joke at all. There are evil forces in this world that want control over everyone's lives, for the sake of power itself or for the money. Monsanto fits right in there. I think the reason marijuana is being legalized in more states is because of the huge revenue it can bring in to the government. And if you can control what is grown, think of the potential monetary gain.

Dad said that there was plenty of food, plenty of work, just no money. No way to buy seed or pay anyone.
Barter works for everything but electricity and taxes.

I need to quit having fun and go clean something.
My house is an elephant. I need to take a bite out of it somewhere.

My grandpa grew up on a farm, 8 brothers and sisters.... They were never hungry.

Terrifying isn't it? I believe there are already GMO strains out there...

One of the best benefits of growing your own is knowing where your next meal will come from.

He was! Funnily enough, his name was McDonald (as in "ol McDonald had a farm"). He was Scottish, a tough but fair man with a twinkle in his eye who always had a soft spot for his grandkids. He lived until he was 92 and died of a heart attack out in his garden. He was one of my hero's.
