I know what you mean about heading to the homestead. I really look forward to getting back to my Lil 32 acres. :)
 
We're at about half that, but have dreams of winning the lottery so we can buy out all the nearest neighbors

We tried to add a bit recently when a house with 10 acres of woods went up for sale, but they wanted an astronomical amount per acre. For now we'll keep planting new trees every year and maybe by the time we retire it will be a bit more filled up.

When I first moved to south Georgia wooded land was only 800 an acre. That was in 1993. It has almost tripled now.
 
They wanted almost $9000 an acre.

The land was priced more than the house which was surprising because it was a large and newer home.
