Ok so here we go, pull up a chair, get a cup of coffee, get comfy and get ready for some
At 8:30am to be exact I set 42 eggs for incubation! I am so e and nervous already.
I spent an hour sorting eggs gathered from the past week, I went through and checked the most recent eggs for cracks, thin shells, etc. I was up until midnight making sure eveything was ready to go for launch this am.
Here is my final selection
42 Eggs total
15 - EE x BO from our flock
13 - mix of brown egg layers x BO from our flock
12 - Ameraucana eggs from Percheron chick - Blue Wheaten Roo
2 - EE from Percheron chick - Blue Wheaten Roo X Cream Brabanters
So this am I loaded up the bator...
I was lucky enough to catch Little One (EE) and Safron (Wellie) right after lay, so I marked the eggs. I am hoping they hatch.
Now I will try to not to be a flippin nervous wreck! I am hoping everything goes well. What a great learning experience. I am so eggcited e

We kind of need it. Maybe it will slow down some of these other loggers and we can hual some wood. All the mills are full now. Can't work tomorrow. The mills aren't taking.

I'm going to be living vicariously through you! I've never incubated eggs before (whether through a bator or with a broody) but it's such an interesting process. And who couldn't love the end result with all the new little chickies. Keep us posted, ok?
