I have a hatching question for those experienced folks. Has anyone stored their hatching eggs in the fridge and pulled them out to bRing to room temp before putting in the bator? I ask because I don't have a cool place to store in the house, figured the fridge is better than room temp? Any suggestions/thoughts. THANKS

I put them in a closet and I prop up a side slightly and rotate throughout the week. I read somewhere that it prevents the yolk from settling, not sure how true it is, but I do it anyhow.

Thanks Shannon, I read that too, but also read that tilting really only is required if your storing hatching eggs for like a week. We are getting 20-21 eggs a day out of 23 hens currently, so gathering eggs for two days, I should have enough for the bator. My plan is to candle all those collected and discard any that have cracks in shells or are not viable. Then collect more until I have the 41 and then set. Figure by Monday I should have them sorted and ready for the bator.

I am not bright(most of these quotes are too much for me to grasp) but am smart enough to love/follow a simple quote of my ex father in laws that stuck with me(don't know where he heard it) and know for a fact it's making me feel as good as I do today!

I don't know, I just let them sit on the counter. I've collected eggs for hatching in the winter though, with great fertility rates.
