Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

I soo believe this! :)

If you guys could send prayers, that would help. A relative has to go back in for a second mammogram because they saw something, and life has been throwing nothing but struggles at us all for a while.

Prayers being said for your relative.

Hello everyone. My family and I just got back from Texas. My uncle ended up having a horrible case of pancreatitis. After his second surgery things seemed to be going well and his pancreas actually didn’t look bad. As the doctor was telling my aunt that my uncle would probably recover, sirens went off and a code blue happened. My uncle died that night. It was extremely tragic. He was only 36 years old and he has a 12 year old son.

The funeral was very well done and very simple, however about 350 people showed up! My uncle was a very rare man. He brought joy to everyone he met. He was selfless and truly loved unconditionally. I am still in shock that he is gone. I cannot imagine the pain my aunt and cousin are going through. Loss is a part of life but I know that God’s plan never ceases to occur and always ends in good. And I also know that I’ll see my uncle again and, until then, I hope to touch people and live life to the fullest just as he did.

I would ask that you pray for comfort and peace for our whole family, but especially my aunt and cousins. I really appreciate all of y'all's support and prayers.

I sure am tired and drained from all the loss that has occurred in the last month for my family and I, but I know it must be happening for a reason AND I know that God grows and changes us for the better through pain.

I'll be praying for you & your family.

Thank you all. We have done some research, and about 85% of people who a hospital wants to see again for a mammogram come back with no cancer.

Sarah, prayers sent, and hugs to you and all your family.

My cousin said something very interesting and good today: "Are you sad? (no) Are you mad? (no) Are you depressed? (no) Are you bored? (no) Then just smile."

Is that the little man? Aww

I'm glad to hear he's doing so well! Hard to believe how terribly young he is, he's handling all this so very well.
Yes, he is a cutie.

I could be a bit bias...maybe... He is sporting a shorter hair cut now...for summer and so that when it falls out it is not so big of a deal.

Here is an email update that came late last night:

Hello again!
Not much to report for today except that I think we finally got all the surgical glue off! :). Last week at this time, Kyle was nervous to even lift his shirt, but today he helped peel off the last of his "stickers." We are so proud and thankful for the progress he has made in just this past week.
Kyle is still super happy and playful. We have not noticed any side effects. The little things that he does, we are not sure if they are side effects or just a 3 year old trying to get attention. IF he complains that he hurts, it usually comes immediately after he is told to do something he doesn't really want to do (finish eating, go to the bathroom, get ready for bed, etc). So we are trying to sort through what is actually happening. We are happy to report that he does not seem to have the neuropathy we were seeing after the first dose (at least not yet). I figured out a few fun ways to test the things the doctors told us to watch for. So far, Kyle is passing them all. We will keep watching since the side effects shouldn't come for 7-10 days. He rode his bike yesterday, and was able to do it as much as he could before this all happened.
It is very late, so I am heading to bed, but we will try to keep everyone informed if we notice any changes.

Katie is learning to read and Kyle asked her to read to him before his nap...which he took on his Paw Patrol sleeping roll, in the playroom, with a pile of stuffed animals (mostly cats it looks like). Thank you for your continuing prayers.

That is soooo cute! Glad to hear the little man is doing so well. Keeping fingers crossed he'll continue on this path and they'll soon be able to put this all behind them. And you're allowed to be a wee bit biased, he IS adorable!
