When I was younger my hair was down to my waist. Use to wear it in braids. Some others were, "Do you still live in a teepee?" "How come your not on a reservation?" :th"Have you scalped anyone?" I just look at it this way, they were so small minded, ignorant, self centered and non-human, really didn't want to waste my breath to explain the obvious!

:hugs Some people are just… fools I guess. Being from South Africa, I've had to deal with a bit of stupidity myself when I lived in The Netherlands a good few years ago. A few people said to me when I told them where I'm from "But you're WHITE?" (Ironically about 1/4 of my ancestors are Dutch)

I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you at times, knowing how irritating it was for me, dealing with those.

I understand completely! My grandmother was full blood Comanche, or Numunu in my native tounge, which means "the people". She had blue eyes. I have blue eyes too!...so the response is, "your not Indian, you have blue eyes. "You don't look Indian" , to which I would respond, "What's an Indian suppose to look like?"
Use to play cowboys & Indians with the neighborhood kids when I was young. I always wanted to be a cowboy but they wouldn't let me, because I was an Indian.
Oh well, It really didn't and still doesn't bother me that some people can be that narrow minded....but at the time it did hurt a little! My father said it best, he told me to not pay attention to fool's and idiot's.
Off my rant, again!
