My youngest son sent me this. It's in reference to a little drama locating a certified birth certificate a few years ago.

I still haven't figured out why an official state driver's license is valid Identification for everything but having your driver's license renewed. Shouldn't they recognize their own work?

Our requirements changed within the last few years. Now you need an official birth certificate, a social security card, and a utility bill or a car registration. And an appointment, about 3 months in advance. 🤨

I recently updated my address. Two days for the appointment and two proofs of address (plus my DL).
 
Walk-in, minimal wait. Advantage of small-town living. But yeah, two forms of ID including SS, mail to prove you live here, documentation showing every name change from birth to current (every marriage, every divorce).... what did I forget? Probably something. Come back tomorrow ....
