R.I.P Pebbles

Tell me about her ♥️ and what made her so special to…
She was one of my first five chickens. I was such a rookie chicken owner looking back  One night I accidentally locked the chickens out of their coop! They were completely free range at the time, so I just fell asleep. In the morning, I looked out my window onto my deck and there was a bald eagle perched atop one of the deck railings. Me and my family went outside and looked under the deck and found two of our chickens, completely unharmed. Soon after I found one under the chicken coop, and one somewhere else, I forget. Now we ventured into the giant forest, and found Pebbles, in a pile of sticks, also completely fine. That was just one of the attacks she’s dogged. After awhile, the other four chickens died out, but Pebbles thrived on. We got more and more chickens, but most of them she wasn’t best friends with. Only one hen. Her name is Garlicky, they both loved food, their relationship was so cute. Anyway, we lost more and more chickens, but no one got Pebbles. Pebbles was a beautiful orange Easter egger. She was the prettiest chicken I’ve ever seen. Pebbles was the leader hen, she wasn’t afraid to beat up some pesky roosters to stay in her place. She would always eat from your hand, or run up to you. If all of the chickens were scared of you, Pebbles would love you all the same. I can’t even say all the things that made her special. 🥰

Oh my darling, my eyes have filled with tears. I’m so sad for you.
We say in France when a loved one is lost ‘I feel your pain’ and never could this be so true.
I am sending you all my hugs 🤗
