Rabbit breeding question...

Do rabbits EVER pull their hair out for anything other than expecting to give birth? It looks like "Spice" did have just enough time with "Snowball!"....three lbs. of hair in her nesting box to prove it.

And, how far before the birth do they normally prepare the nest box?

When did they breed? They can make a nest very early if the box is in there, most breeders put it in just a few days before the due date. Also, some rabbits have false pregnancies and pull fur.

I have had does pull hair at 24 days but usually the day of or the day before kindling.

My does pulled two days before the kindling. I think you are supposed to put the nest box in on day 29 with lots of hay inside the box and inside the cage. Both of my does were first time mothers and they did it magically. Although, I did give them a pep talk.
