my french lops (1 yr old almost each) are licking nonstop. they have drool constantly on their chins and front feet. no sneezing or coughs (well the bucks coughs a couple times when his litter is changed but stops after 1-2 coughs)

this started when I began keeping the house open (windows and doors) for fresh air
they seem perfectly healthy besides the wet chins. clear dry eyes and noses. good appetite. bowels and urinating ok. good water intake.

our breeder thinks allergies

what gives??

Is it hot there yet? They could drool if they were heatstroking. Also Pregnant does in distress will drool.

Have you changed anything in their cages? New feed, new treats, new bag of bedding? It almost sounds to me like something in their bedding is causing them an issue, can you get them off of it for a bit and see if it clears up?

I opened a new bag of shavings and within a day my Quail were dead/dying not doing well. I swear there was something toxic in it.

Are they rubbing against their cages or anything. My daughters doe was going nuts before she was bred drooling, escaping her cage, thumping the sides of her cage, slinging her food....then we put her with the buck and she was fine.. calm, sweet, and happy again. Maybe they want to have a visit if you have one of each sex. It is Springtime ya know. Maybe just hormonal.

well they stopped.
the buck WANTS her bad. he is humping everything

it is in the 70-80s here but a strong wind keeps it nice

they act perfectly fine. just drooling at times
using same bedding, feed, everything
