Rabbit Hobbies!!

This is a pdf file that tells about vermicomposting with rabbits and how to build a compost bin under your rabbit hutch. I used it as a reference when my oldest son and I built ours.
We were lucky and found some long plywood boxes free on Craigslist that were full of shredded paper so I used that but you can also use newspaper because they are printed with soy ink that is supposed to be safe nowdays. I also threw in some free coffee grounds from Starbucks (they will give away coffee grounds to recycle if you ask for them...you don't even have to buy anything but I usually do LOL).

You don't have to worm compost you can also just put dry rabbit manure straight into the planting holes or dig in around the plants in your garden and it doesn't burn the way cow manure does. I put some in when I planted my veggie garden this year and its doing great.

I've been using their manure straight from the bunnies to my garden for years and have never had a problem with it burning my plants. Although I don't just pile it onto my plants either, I work it into the soil around the plants, or before I plant.

Would you consider French Angoras? My line is proven. Buck is a two time grand champion...

For now I don't plan on any wool breeds to much work. I know a couple woll breeders that have French Angoras.

8 healthy kits born yesterday! Half-pedigreed Mini Rexes. Doe was Blue eyed white with papers, and buck was all black. Looks like some solid whites, blacks, and a few broken.

Doing the bunny dance since my other doe has had 2 M/C this season. I'm thinking its time to retire her, even though shes only 2.5. She had a great litter last summer.
