I'm looking at buying a used rabbit hutch (something similar to the picture below) and converting it in to a coop! Was hoping someone could give me some pointers as to what work I'd need to do to something like the below to make it be viable for housing some hens.

We're ideally looking to get 2-4 hens and I am going to construct some sort of run which could be a reasonable size as we've got plenty space so thoughts on a size for this would be great too!

I look forward to your thoughts! :)

Sorry, it's too small...chickens are rather larger and have much different housing needs than rabbits.

4sqft of floor space per bird in coop and 10sqft in run is a minimal 'rule of thumb'.
More is better, but can depend on your climate and run size/configuration.

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
