Ok so we have this rabbit we found in our yard, it is domesticated believed to be prior tenants. We donot know his age or health. He was in our apartment in a cage, not afraid got along w the cats n dogs then we got chickens n ducks and put them all in the coop. Transition was slow, he was doing good we let him run around hes been free in the coop for about a week because we need the cage for one wounded duck...today I put him back in with all his stuff...today was hot n muggy but coop is ok inside but the cage is on the floor...we dont know if he is breathing heavy n shaking due to the humid weather or if he had a tiff w a mouse or critter over food...or if the ducks have been making him nervous although they were ok...I brought him in the house and its been 3 hrs and he is still breathi ng that way but is exploring, drinking and inter acting w the cats. Am I over reacting?

erm not sure i would take the rabbit to the vets just to make sure, explain that you found her in your garden and they might be able to check her for free but do mention if you are, willing to take her home

give it a ice pack or frozen bottle to lay near- even when we are comfortable with the temp, it can be much more hot feeling for them, they don't sweat and can only relieve heat from their bodies from their ears to try and cool off. Yes if you can a vet check up could do some real good, they can tell if it's having issues w/ the heat or what have you. Your correct if the bunny is stressed it can react like that, but usually once removed from the current setting they will start to calm down. Hope all is still going good.

Good luck with it and keep us posted

It was heat....placed a fan out side the cage and it helped
