Rabbit Nesting!

Sheesh, I repeated a lot of what @Bunnylady said before I saw her post. I guess "great minds think alike"!

UPDATE: The female finale built a nest but the thing is she built a nest inside the nest box and one outside the nest box.

Two nests are better than none, IMO. If she kindles in the one outside the nest box, you could try moving everything into the nest box afterward.

could i put something around the nest outside so if she does nest in that one the baby wont run around

I bet you could - like a miniature exercise pen? Maybe use wire with any sharp edges covered? @Bunnylady, thoughts?

Ok do you know when they will usually pull fur

It really depends on the doe - I've had some pull the day before, sometimes right before, some immediately after. They can look like they're not going to, then POOF! it'll look like a rabbit exploded in their cage. Occasionally, a doe won't pull fur until a while after she kindles; this scenario is not good because the fur helps keep the kits warm. I've only had one first-time mom do that, and I just "borrowed" fur from the other doe that had kindled. I collect extra fur now and keep it on hand in case a doe doesn't pull enough.

Is it normal for the doe to just sit in the nest shes been in the same spot for at least an hour
