Rabbit with flaky crust inside her ears UPDATE post #14

Just spray/squirt oil LIBERALLY into the ears . .

.

A few drops is enough if you spread it around, and any type of oil will work since it just smothers the mites

Thanks guys,Ill start the treatment tomoro.
My reading has said that the mites live for 21 days, so to keep up the treatment for at least that long to get the mite babies.

Its alot easier to find info when you know what your lookin for . . .

Just an update . . .

I have been applying BabyOil to the rabbits ears, and they have cleared right up.
She looks great with no signs of crust or mites any more.
I still have about a week left of treatment before I feel confident the problem is solved.
I have also cleaned out the cage with bleach and hot sun.

Ill go take a pic when I go outside in a bit.

I applied the oil with a small paintbrush, it made a complete mess of her fur around the head/neck area, but it goes away in a day or 2, and she is so much more comfortable not having to shake her haed and scratch her ears all day and night . ..

Thanks for all the help!!!
