Akane. I spend a lot of time outside with my rabbit and chickens. They both free range.
Both eat a tiny bit of each others main food.
When they do they take a few bites and leave.
My rabbit is not caged. Hangs out with the chickens and dog day and night.
When chickens are locked up at night it grazes some more as I often see it later in the dark and then some time the next day normally there next to the run waiting for his buddies to come out in the morning.
I watch what my animals eat.
I'm not going to LOCK my chickens out of their run so my rabbit doesn't get in there once a day if that and takes a couple bites of chicken feed.
You want to tell someone their rabbit shouldn't ever eat it fine. They are free to take your advice.

On the other side of the coin, I'm going to tell them having animals that free range I have had no problems.
If a rabbit was lazy, didn't like his own food, ate a bunch of chicken feed daily, then I'd certainly advise to cage the rabbit up as the chickens need to have access to their feed and coop during the day.
