My chickens leg got attacked by a raccoon in late June and I just wanted to know if he’ll be able to walk again because he just hops with one foot and I haven’t seen him move his toes or curl them he just moves his leg up and down.

Two ways to treat this at home. Both treatments treat paralysis and weakness.

First treat for delayed shock with one cup of water with one teaspoon sugar and a pinch of salt and baking soda mixed in. Give for the next forty-eight hours.

Second is to treat for damaged nerve connections with vitamin B complex. Give one tablet each day for the next six to eight weeks. Get it where you buy human vitamins.

No one can tell you from out here in internet land that your chicken will or will not walk normally again. But if you do both of those treatments, he may have a 50% chance of recovering.

Ok thanks but is there a specific brand of vitamin B tablets? And since he’s about 3 months old is it ok for him to take a whole tablet?

B-complex has all the necessary Bs. Any brand will do. He can't overdose on the B vitamins. Any that are not used he will eliminate when he poops.
Ok thank you but the last questions I have are is it ok if the tablets have vitamin C in them and do I just shove the tablet down his throat?

Get B-complex without vitamin C. B-complex will have B-2, 6, and 12 which will heal damaged nerve connections. I buy mine at Walmart, and you can get either the B-50 which has 50mg of each of those vitamins or B-100 which has 100mg of each. Either one will do.

Pry open his beak and slip the tablet inside, close his beak and he will swallow. If he happens to spit it out, try again. You'll get practiced at it in no time.

Ok thank you I will look for the vitamins at my local Walmart.

I’m so sorry but I have one more question, is it ok for the tablets to have B-1 or 3? Or is it ok to not have B-2
