Hi chicken friends!
I am new to owning hens and I’m really loving it- his is my first post! I’m having a problem with raccoons getting into the chicken run at night. I haven’t found any raccoon poop in the run, but are my chickens at risk for getting some kind of raccoon disease? Is there anything I should be doing for them healthwise because of this? I appreciate your wisdom

:welcome

You most definitely need to do something about that situation, pronto!
Raccoons can carry all sorts of diseases, rabies, canine distemper, leptospirosis and more, also they commonly carry roundworms that can be picked up by dogs and humans. As to whether they can transmit anything to your chickens, I'm not sure, hopefully someone else has that info for you.

I would set traps
to get ride of them or put a wire top on your coop
just the raccoons being there is a major threat
and if they know food is there they wont stop coming back and could kill 1+ birds

Yes to traps. I have caught and dispatched 2 so far. The coop itself is Fort Knox and we are putting some electric wire out this weekend.

Also, I have wire on top but it’s not sufficient at this point. They are determined

I dispatched 14 coons in 17 days, summer of 2021.
