Raccoon in chicken pen

we have had chickens for a few months with no predator problems, but it appears a raccoon ( we think) climbed a tree and dropped into the pen. He then proceeded to open our coop door ( a slide latch) and take one of our girls. We are planning to get a trap, but tips on coop latches or other means to deter this critter from returning would be appreciated!

I use latches with a loop for a padlock and use carabiner clips in place of a padlock given time I am sure a racoon could open it but sofar so good.
