Hi, i have two chickens right now, my others were killed by coons. We have caught and killed seven coons, four in a family and three loners. I havent had any activity in the coop, keeping my chickens in the shed. No coons caught in a week is it safe to put my chickens back in? P.S.: my coop has wire ran a foot deep all around and secure roof.
Thanks!

As long as you are absolutely sure the coop is secure you can put them back. Think of a raccoon as being like an evil, strong five year old. If the five year old might be able to work a latch, pull off wire from its staples, or tear off a board and get in, then the raccoon definitely could get in.

Only two birds. House them somewhere else at night and place trap in pen with bait. If not further catches then you have a temporary repreve. Also upgrade design, then put birds back in for nights.

Thats exactly what we were thinking of doing. We have had the trap in the coop for a while and no more coons so far. I am adding to our henhouse so i will make sure to secure it well. We are still keeping them in at night for now, and i will keep the trap in the coop just in case.
