I do not get the extreme dislike and wanting to torture of raccoons. I don't want them near my domestics either and they ARE wild animals so they should not be fed(accidentally or ,certainly, on purpose) I wonder if this lady had ever fed them or someone nearby had been "taming" them with food? because raccoons ARE traditionally afraid of humans. I set traps 24/7/365 for raccoons(and kittys that need to be fixed) and when a coon is caught I spray paint their backs(to see if they are repeat offenders) and give them a terrifying sendoff so they should not want to come back and have never had a repeat offender(to my knowledge!) we HAVE killed 2 by shooting as they were acting ill. but hopefully NOBODY trys to tame a wild one because they are predators and quite hyper.
