Raccoon question

I miss Houston sometimes, the good times I had back in the 70s & 80s, but last time I was out there it wasn't any thing like it was before.
It was booming back then and there were "HELP WANTED" signs everywhere, Full Time, Part Time, Any Time! What used to be nice clean neighborhoods were drug and crime infested ghettos my last visit. I went to an apartment complex I once lived in near Westbury and a tear came to my eyes after seeing several stripped down and burnt cars on the street and the crack hoes flagging cars down to sell their "wares". I'm sure there are still decent parts of Houston that are safe, but to be honest, the whole damn place scares me now. :hit

We live rural Arkansas, pretty much at end of the road but have neighbors that can see everything.

I built the auto door myself. So far the only issue I’ve had is when I’ve screwed up the program ie: leaving in in manual. ( my eyesight ain’t what it used to be) I even added a battery backup Incase power failure. Since I work 12 hour shift way too many days of the year I see it has at least changed position every da. The only down side I’ve found with the setup is as seasons change.

Sometimes when daylight starts changing I would catch a bird or two staying till plum dark And the door had shut but would let them in the big door. They still had numerous places to roost outside the coop with a fair amount of security.

I don't like Houston much either! Most every place I look, it's dumpy and there's almost trash everywhere! Of course Hurricane Harvey didn't help it out alot either... Made it worse... About the only time we go to Houston is for my sister's doctor appointments at Texas Children's(they're really good there). But for shopping and stuff, we go to Sugarland/Rosenberg/Richmond area. That area is really nice I think, especially Sugarland! Oh and I like Austin too, it's nice there too!

I lived in Quail Valley when it was nice and new. Worked down 59 in Sugarland at Rons Crispy Fried Chicken before Churches bought it out. How's Missouri City these days? It had turned into a 3rd world shithole last time I was there. That is where I saw the burnt out cars and even ones overturned.

Interesting... I think Missouri City is about the same as when you saw it last...

In my experience, raccoons usually leave a sign they were there. We once had a male and female raccoon team take out one of our roosters and the mess they left was indescribable. Feathers, blood, and tracks everywhere! We caught them the next night and the male was easily 30lbs. Even over 2+ weeks, it seems like too many birds to go missing without a trace for it to be ‘coons.

It could have been 2 legged coons. Both wear masks and aren't called bandits for nuffins.
