ok this may be a dumb question but my uncle may want my Muscovy duck but there is a raccoon running around lately. Is a raccoon a big threat to a large Muscovy drake? I don't have raccoons around where i live so i'v never had a problem.

Yes, they will kill a duck of given half a chance. A raccoon can swim and climb trees to get to them. The Scovy would need a secure house for over night. If the coon is hunting during the day then a secure pen is needed with a top and small wire (1/2"x1/2" hardware cloth) surrounding it.

Unfortunately, raccoons are much more powerful than they look and they can take down fairly large prey. So, it's wise to be careful.

Ok thank you. I'm very glad we don't have raccoons around here.
