That's a cool idea. I did have one racoon that would NOT go in the cage, but got the bait out every time. I tricked out the cage to force the animal to have to go in the cage to get the treat. So I thought. It tunneled underneath the cage and pulled the bait through the wire mesh from the underside! Very intelligent animals.Try digging a small hole in the ground for your bait, and putting the cage on top of the hole. Be sure to stake down the cage, or the coon will probably move it aside to access the marshmallows
Anyway, I got around all of this by switching over to Duke's dog proof raccoon trap which works every time.
