Trap and dispatch. Trapping and relocating isn't good because you're putting them into someone else's backyard, so to speak. And they'll come right back to "where the free food is" AKA your place. Same goes for opossum. When I get back to town I'm buying a Havahart trap to have on hand. We always see the coons around here once the bird feeders are out for winter, but I'm sure the scent of chickens will bring them around sooner if they haven't been here already. I'm out in the country, so there are numerous possibilities as far as preditors.
