After raccoons were so persistent in breaking into my coop, I decided to start trapping.

I have been catching one every night! I have caught three so far. I wonder how many have been regularly visiting?

I also try to raccoon proof everything, but they are so persistent.

I live in the country next to 600 acres of woods. I shoot raccoons on a daily basis and they keep coming back. I had 7 come in one night, a mother and her babies and we killed ever one, except one got away. This place is heavily populated with raccoons and I found the best way to get rid of them is just keep killing them, or in your case trapping them. They'll probably keep coming unless you use some kind of deterrent. Even then I wouldn't be surprised if a few still came. I heard (male) pee will deter them and someone actually told me of a spray you can use that burns the noses.

I have dispatched close to 30,and I live in an area surrounded by homes.Keep traps set 24/7.If a predator comes into your yard dispatch it before it kills your livestock.

I have a live trap that I bait with Nilla wafers and keep directly below the roost box. I haven't gotten a coon yet, though.

Also there is as much meat on a large coon as there are on a small kid or lamb. Humm... Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!

Tastes like chicken! I was served coon as a kid. Fried just like chicken we never knew.

Man I would like some of those raccoon recipes. All that I have ever eaten tasted like crap. I eat a litle of game, but will never try coon again.
