She walked to the bathroom and walked to the mirror staring at her reflection there where still tears in her eyes and she wiped them away.

Meanwhile, Waleed was making a long distance phone call from the office. He spoke quietly and quickly, his Arabic out of place in such an environment. It had been a long time since he had called his relatives. There was something in his voice, however, that gave off a hint of insecurity or worry, possibly a bit of sorrow.
