I don't know about that.... my silkie hatched out the ugliiest little cockerel I've ever seen! Named him Frankenstein. She loved him just as much as his very much cuter sister (both from Brown Leghorn hen and Polish Roo)
She also loved her EE chicks equally. So perhaps the love of a Mama Silkie is something altogether different.
