Does it make a difference if i hatch in egg racks verses if i move them out of the racks to their side?

I have always taken them out of the racks or cartons and putting them on there side, but I am gonna try keeping them in cartons for there next hatch.

going into lockdown today with 17 bcm eggs, im thinking i am going to try leaving them in the racks. wish me luck!!

I tried the egg crate racks last time and liked it. From here on... egg crate hatching.
One thing: with the paper egg crates the chicks toes could grip to walk around. I don't think they could get a grip on the plastic racks. Here is what I did, and you can ask for these at any eating place that cracks eggs for breakfast!

Note bottoms and tops of depressions were removed for air flow.

cool, thanks for the tip. i went to shop a while ago to put them in the hatching drawer and my ringnecks still havent finished. i may have to put these on their sides. i dont know what happened to the ringnecks to make them drag along but they have been hatching for 4 days now. im going to wait till tonight and and float the rest of them. maybe i still can try it.

My hatch cabinet isnt stabilizing like i think it should. looks like the hatch will be in my nosuitableforhatching incubator.
