Just be careful that there's enough ventilation so she doesn't overheat.
Oh I was thinking of having just one side of the rectangle covered on all sides and have one side open for ventilation. I'm
Aw, sweet thing! So glad she's eating well.
How is she ever going to go back to sleeping outside.... she is basically being hand fed and spoiled in here. haha!!

A wire dog crate inside the coop or run with the other chickens, so that she is not forgotten by the others would be what I would do. You could attach some screen wire to it and that can be found in rolls at big box and hardware stores. Spraying the area with permethrin and letting it dry for an hour would be good. Be sure and coat her wound with the Neosporin.

Got the antibotics in the mail.....however should I give it to her? I do not think she has an infection but of course I do not know for sure....

Others here are far more expert in medication, but I will tell you that when one of my hens was attacked by a fox and sustained several bite wounds, the vet immediately put her on an antibiotic. She said, "Rabies is not an issue for chickens, but wild animal bites really run the risk of bacterial infection."

How is your chicken? I’ve been following your thread  I hope she is doing well.
Thanks for asking!!

Uploaded some updated videos from today. See links below. These pictures here are from yesterday. I try to clean up after every night. I use to spray her twice a day with the Spurr thing (I think this spray is really good). But now I'm at once a day or so....maybe sometimes skipping a day. So something she does when I spray her is she seems to try to lick the spray afterwards/during the spraying. I'm not sure if she likes the taste or what. Anyone have any ideas?

Yesterday when I cleaned the shower area and put her on the floor in the restroom while I rinsed off the shower, I think she tried to escape....so I think she misses the outside, but I don't have a place for her that I am confident flies won't get to her so for now she stays in the restroom. So she can hop around but not super fast unless she is trying to escape I guess. :)

Any comments/questions/advice are all appreciated.

It looks like she may be trying to preen the spray a bit. Could be she likes the taste, it has essential oils. Doesn't look like she's ingesting much so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

I think you are correct that the bone in the wing is drying up. I'm hopeful that is will loosen and come out as the tissue dries, tightens up and heals.

I think the same for the foot. Possible she may lose some of the foot or toes, at this point, it's hard to know. The body can wall off dead tissue, especially in the foot/toes so it eventually naturally falls off (autoamputate) but it takes time for this to happen, so time will tell on that one I suppose.

Overall, I think she's looking good, so are the wounds. You are doing such a great job taking care of her. You have a kind voice.

Do you have another little hen that she was friends with? To break up some of the monotony, you can try bringing in a friend to spend a little time with her, share a treat/eat/drink. It may work out or they may not get along - you never know about chickens.
