Coons love marshmallows. What you could do short term is to get a package of those and punch many holes in all of them and soak them in antifreeze. You might include a bowl of it in the same place. Put them out after dark and go out at daylight to pick them up. No one wants to get some poor dog out for a walk. They will keep indefinitely so just keep putting them out every evening. You might just get lucky and nail him.
I have had a healthy respect for them before I got chooks. I determined that coons were most likely pred to attack my flock here in E Tenn. So, I put up a well built coop that only a two-legged skunk can get into, or a bull elephant. Then I put up 6 ft welded wire fencing, set in cement all around. I then put a 2 ft tall roll of chicken wire inside the fence to keep chooks from poking their heads thru. Then I installed a fence charger, 5 miles, 4 KV and 4 courses of hotwire, beginning at 8" and ending at 42". I lock them in their coop every eve at dusk. So far, no problems in 5 1/2 months of raising chooks. Going the extra mile pays off. Really hardware cloth mesh would be better than chicken wire, but my chooks are rarely near the fence as the run is large at 2,000 sq ft.
