Saturday night the beast found my girls, lost my best girl to a snack happy racoon. So sad i loved Pearl so much. we have now finished the net top so hopefully no more tasty meals. my black autralorp rooster, my banty rooster and 2 of my girls have run off.this makes me sik but it is our fault not finishing the top sooner. At least my Ameraucana's are just now starting to lay.

Net Top?

It's going to take more then a net to keep a Coon out.

Two words .. Pellet gun
Two more words .. Overnight servelence

Mark the territory with pee? Worked for the ferel cats atound my house.

I never try to completely predator proof a run. It's simply too pricey. I do however think a coop should be completely predator proof, all vents covered with hardwire cloth, and coop door closed at night every night.

we installed chicken wire, that was a pain but so far no more deamon attacks.
