So just caught a racoon on my porch trying to get into my brooder. Which they cannot. However I did pop a few rounds off at it was it was running in the dark. Does anyone know if it will stay away after being fired at?

They are like little Terminators.
If you didn't get him, he'll be back!
:gig

My guess: if you didn't make contact, it was just an odd noise and he... or she ... will be back. There are lots of hungry, growing babies about right now, foxes, coyotes, raccoons and more, which means lots of mommas out scouting for groceries. And roosting chickens in a coop smell like an awful lot like sitting ducks! ;)

My brooder is filled with ducks, Chickens, and turkeys. If it wasn't for my house guest staying in the room would have never known it was up there

Set a live trap and get him (her) and be sure!
Are you positive that nobody can get into your brooder? Raccoons are smart and strong!

I'm using a tote with the handle that click on. Then cut out the center and put in hardware cloth with 1x2 both bottom and top holding it together
