Hi, I had to get a radon remediation unit installed in my basement because of radon in the soil. I want to get a small coop--three or four chickens--and have been trying to find out what I would need to do for this to be OK. I have two families on my street that have coops (we all have acre backyards), and the radon level should be the same. i have not seen them take any measures to keep the chickens away from the soil. Does anybody have information and suggestions for me?

thank you

Radon is usually only at dangerous levels in basements and crawl spaces where it collects. Radon is in ever square foot of soil on planet Earth but like most things Radon is not a problem unless it is present in large amounts.

If you have half way decent ventilation in your coop you'll be fine.
