Now I feel like we are really making headway on our new coop. Size is a 12' x 16', the first four feet will be a storage room with water! I'm so excited to have water in the coop along with electric. Hubby is doing a great job, but lots of hard work especially in with the high 90 degrees we've had lately.

We've gotten so many good ideas from everyone posting on the site. Thank you for sharing. Today we will finish up the last rafter and then start on the plywood for the roof. Please let us know if there is anything you see that we didn't think about.

BTW, yesterday while we were building, a big hawk came and sat right in the lower branches of the big tree in the picture looking over at my girls. Thank goodness we have them covered. We see and hear them flying in the woods all day long.

Last Saturday we started on the walls. DH took off this week to work on it. Up until that point we had been using a couple hours in the evenings and weekends to put the foundations and floor in along with running water pipe and electricity down. Now the fun part where we can see it coming together more.

Thanks!!

Originally we had 8 for the first year, now I've added 8 more, so 16. Today we were working on the roof. It's just hubby and I, so lifting those panels are heavy! We had a storm, so we only got 2 done. Back tomorrow bright and early. My chickens can start laying those golden eggs any time now!!
