Raggedy Rooster

My rooster is looking, needless to say, rather rough around the edges. His feathers aren't smooth and sleek, but frayed. He is not missing feathers. They just do not look nice. It is like he is not grooming very well.

Could it be a diet thing? My girls look nice though save for one who also looks rough. They free range and have access to flock raiser most of the day. They get BOSS as a treat once a day, a handful between the lot of them.

Make sure he has a good dust bath, how old is he? Maybe he is getting close to molting

The flock has an extensive dust bathing area that they regularly use everyday. It is quite fun watching them do their thing!

He is three years old now. I wouldn't think he'd be molting at this time of the year.
