I wake up today to the rain which I love! It was just a sprinkle, so I let my chickens out of their run and they got soaking wet and muddy! I had to give some of them baths and blow drys. They were upset because they had to spend the day in their run and they raised such a commotion about the nesting boxes! One of them sat in the favorite spot for two hours not laying an egg and all the others were screaming! I took her out and put her in a crate so the others could lay. Two of my chickens laid an egg within 20 minutes and the one hogging the nest box laid an egg in the crate!

These are the two that hate to be in the run, my Silver Grey Dorkings! I think they are meant to forage all the time! I just took them over to my moms house this afternoon and they were so happy digging around in all the leaves! When they are happy, they are quiet!

They're very pretty. Like that 2nd picture, it looks like she has a lot to say!
Oh yes! You’d better believe it! They are quite outspoken! That is the reason for field trip’s. It’s one of the only ways I have found to make them quiet!
